Advanced Clinical Practitioner

  • JODIE SPRAGG

I work as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) in a GP surgery and have over 29 years of experience working in the NHS, with my background in general nursing. My Master’s level training allows me to work within clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice while providing holistic, patient-centred care. I have a special interest in women’s health, which was also the focus of my Master’s dissertation, and I am part of the Keele University Women’s Health Research Group. I enjoy supporting women at different stages of life and helping patients feel informed, listened to, and involved in decisions about their health. Alongside this, I manage a range of long-term conditions including diabetes, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). I also support the surgery with staff education, student development and service improvement. I am proud to hold recognised digital badges that reflect my continued professional development and commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical practice. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new places in my campervan with my husband, spending time with my girlfriends on trips away, and making the most of family time with my children and grandchildren.

  • MICHELLE DANYLYK

    Advanced Clinical Practitioner

I am an experienced and dedicated Advanced Clinical Practitioner with a strong background in primary care. I qualified as a registered nurse in 2016 from Keele University, before beginning my career in District Nursing, where I developed a solid foundation in community-based patient care over a seven-year period. Alongside my community role, I gained valuable experience within the acute setting at Royal Stoke University Hospital, working across acute medicine and elderly and frailty wards. This enabled me to broaden my clinical knowledge and enhance my acute assessment skills. While working as a District Nurse, I continued my professional development by completing additional qualifications, including Mentorship training, and progressed into a Senior Staff Nurse role. I later undertook a Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Practice Qualification (SPQ) in District Nursing, earning the title of District Nursing Sister. This advanced training included modules in physical health assessment, independent and supplementary prescribing, research, and leadership. In my role as a District Nursing Sister, I managed caseloads and delivered holistic care, including the management of long-term conditions, admission avoidance, palliative care, and complex wound care. I also played a key role in mentorship, leadership, and staff development. In 2023, I progressed to the role of Advanced Nurse Practitioner and have since worked across multiple GP surgeries in the Stoke-on-Trent area. In this role, I assess patients with urgent, same-day care needs and support the management of chronic conditions. I am currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice at Keele University, with a focus on improving chronic kidney disease management in primary care. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, and strength training at the gym.
